HMAS Sydney II
When HMAS Sydney II went missing off the coast of Western Australia in November 1941, the rumours spread into every Australian home, pub and workplace days before the news was officially announced. Still basking in her recent success in the Mediterranean, news of the light cruiser’s disappearance with 645 crew onboard, was met with disbelief and heartbreak.
